I have had issues with Libre 3 sensors falling off my arm for years now. Usually about 1 out of 3 will fall off, and most of them happen within the first day of starting a new sensor. I used to have no problem ordering a replacement sensor from Libre for free, however, the last two times that I requested a replacement senor, I was denied. (I am guessing my email probably got flagged for excessive requests). Recently, the dosage of one of my diabetes medication was increased and at the same time, I started a low-carb diet. So my doctor really wants me to closely monitor my blood sugar levels over the next few months. Since I can’t afford to buy the Libre sensors out-of-pocket when they fall off, I started to look into trying adhesive patches to keep them on.The problem is that years ago when I first started having difficulty with the sensors falling off, I actually tried two different types of patches, however, they didn’t work. With the first one, the entire patch was adhesive, so it didn’t have a non-sticky center. And since the patch’s center stuck to the sensor, after a few days of moving around with it, at some point it pulled the sensor’s tiny needle out of my skin. I then had to replace it with a new sensor because the app gave me the replace sensor error message. The next patch I tried was just as bad. It had one of those tiny plastic caps that went over the sensor. However, its adhesion was terrible and after my first shower with it, the patch started peeling off.So, needless to say, I am really happy to find this patch which has the perfect design and has solved my problem. First of all, the center is not sticky, so you don’t have to worry about it sticking to your sensor and pulling the tiny needle out. Second, it’s really easy to use. The other patches I bought had only one sticker peel-off, but this one has four. So, you don’t have to worry about perfectly lining it over your sensor in one shot. Instead, you put it over your sensor, and after you position it, you then start peeling off the 4 sticker tabs. And it forms a real strong adhesion as well. It’s been almost 4 days, and the patch is still firmly stuck on. There is absolutely no peeling whatsoever. I am pretty sure it will last me the full 2 weeks, but if it doesn’t I will come back and update this review. And it feels really comfortable as well. There really is nothing bad to say about it. The price is $25 for a pack of 20. There are probably cheaper patches online, but from my experience, it so worth getting a quality patch that will actually work for the full 2 weeks, especially considering how expensive Libre 3 sensors are if you are not able to get a free replacement. And 20 patches cover 40 weeks of sensor use, which is almost a full year. So, these patches are definitely worth the price, and I highly recommend them.
